NC Innovation Waiver Services

The North Carolina Innovations Waiver is a resource for funding services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are at risk for institutional care in an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF/IID).

NC Innovations provides an array of community-based services and supports that provide a community-based alternative to institutional care and promote choice, control and community integration. Individuals on NC Innovations must meet eligibility criteria, including having or being eligible for Medicaid.

Alpha Management Services provide the following NC Innovation Waiver Services:

In-Home Skill Building

In-Home Skill Building provides habilitation and skill building to enable the individual to acquire and maintain skills, which support more independence. In-Home Skill Building augments the family and natural supports of the individual and consists of an array of services that are required to maintain and assist the individual to live in community settings.

Community Networking

Community Networking services provide individualized day activities that support the individual's definition of a meaningful day in an integrated community setting, with persons who are not disabled.



Personal Care

Personal Care Services provide support, supervision and engaging participation with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and other activities of daily living. Support and engaging the individual describes the flexibility of activities that may encourage the individual to maintain skills gained during habilitation while also providing supervision for independent activities.

Respite

Respite services provide periodic support and relief to the primary caregiver(s) from the responsibility and stress of caring for the individual. This service enables the primary caregiver to meet or participate in planned or emergency events, and to have planned time for him/her and/or family members.

Residential Support

Personal Care Services provide support, supervision and engaging participation with eating, bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and other activities of daily living. Support and engaging the individual describes the flexibility of activities that may encourage the individual to maintain skills gained during habilitation while also providing supervision for independent activities.


Alpha Management Services provide the following (B)(3) Services:

Respite

Respite services provide periodic support and relief to the primary caregiver(s) from the responsibility and stress of caring for children ages three (3) to twenty (21) with mental health, developmental disabilities or substance use/addiction service needs, and for adults 21 and over with developmental disabilities.

Individual Supports

Individual Supports Services are "hands-on" individualized assistance with everyday activities that are required by individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in order to live independently in the community.



Alpha Management Services provide the following State Funded Services:

Personal Assistance

Personal Assistance is a support service which provides aid to an individual so that they can engage in activities and interactions from which the individual would otherwise be limited or excluded because of their disability or disabilities. The assistance includes: (1) assistance in personal or regular living activities in the client's home, (2) support in skill development, or (3) support and accompaniment of the client in regular community activities or in specialized treatment, habilitation or rehabilitation service programs.

Family Living Moderate

Family Living is a 24 hr. service which provides professionally trained parents-substitutes who work intensively with individuals in providing for their basic living, socialization, therapeutic, and skill-learning needs.
